Sunday 2nd August will offer an exciting opportunity to explore the delights of the beautiful village of Stoke Doyle, near Oundle, and experience the warm welcome of its friendly community. Share with the proud owners their lovely gardens in tranquil settings surrounded by the gentle beauty of the countryside and mellow stone dwellings.

Also be privileged to visit St Rumbald Church in its bucolic position set amongst the wild fl owers of an award-winning churchyard managed to give us a glimpse of the glories of a much older countryside. It has survived in an unbroken succession over the years due to the dedication of the late botanist Franklyn Perring and the people who share his foresight. Two of the gardens are on working farms.

Seven Wells Farm has more recent, but maturing plantings set amongst the original garden and includes a thrilling mixed border of some 60 metres long and 4 metres deep, full of fl owers and foliage of different textures and shapes. Of particular interest are the large containers fi lled with tender perennials and annuals, many of which will be new to most visitors.

Oundle Lodge, set up a track just out of the village, has a series of garden rooms, each with a different feel, incorporating the super views into the design and full of lovely plants to enjoy.

The Old Forge is a tiny cottage-style garden to excite and inspire, all the more extraordinary due to the mature years of the owner and sole gardener! Come and join us in the NGS gardens open for charity and be reminded what the source of our shared passion is all about: the love of fl owers!

The gardens are open from 12noon to 5pm. Combined admission £4, child free. Home-made teas in St Rumbald Church. Stoke Doyle Gardens, PE8 5TN
