Massed Voices Peterborough Cathedral Friday 1st May, 7.30pm - Tickets £5 Peterborough Cathedral, PE1 1XS The first half of this empowering line-up will be the uniting of singers from schools across the county with the orchestra drawn primarily from Oundle and The King’s School, Peterborough, all under the baton of the legendary Howard Goodall.
For the second half, we are looking to form a massed chorus of adult voices to perform the well-known Armed Man Mass under the baton of Oundle School Director of Music, Quentin Thomas.
The Mayor’s Concert Friday 8th May, 7.45pm - Great Hall All welcome - no tickets required Our annual Mayor’s Concert is effectively the last outing for our main ensembles as public examinations draw on our upper year groups. The Chamber Orchestra perform a movement from Beethoven’s 7th Symphony, whilst the Wind Orchestra and Choirs will perform their favourite repertoire from the pieces studied over the year in this hour-long concert. Alec Hone & Quentin Thomas Two Pianos Sunday 7th June, 7.45pm - Great Hall All welcome - no tickets required Back by popular demand after their performance of Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring last summer, Alec Hone, Head of Keyboard and Quentin Thomas, Director of Music, found the notion of one piano a little limiting last year. In this concert, they feature music of a more melodious nature for two pianos.
Take Two launch Culture Week Sunday 21st June, 4pm - Chapel All welcome - no tickets required More of the School’s younger groups have their chance to dazzle and impress. The concert will feature Concert Band, OSJO2, String Ensembles, Oundle Brass 2 and Choirs on a theme of the School’s Culture Week, which begins the following week.
