Celebrating Five Years Of Excellent Child Care Provision Katrina Taylor opened Mawsley Day Nursery in March 2008 after working in nurseries for 11 years. Mawsley Day Nursery is a purpose-built day nursery catering for children ranging from birth to 11 years, with the added bonus of an out of school facility. Katrina was involved from plan with designing the nursery, remembering it when it was just an open field. When the nursery first opened it had 61 places however they have now expanded for the second time to become a 106 - place nursery. Katrina has four children of her own, all under the age of eight, and as she works full time they all come to The Nursery and Out of School club with her. She feels it is important to be there to support staff and also be there for parents. The whole ethos of the nursery is to let children be children for as long as possible; they have so many pressures from so early on that its key to Katrina and her team that when they are here they can relax and play - it is the best part of childhood. With her team of 32, Katrina enjoys being able to watch children go through the nursery and off to school. The Mawsley Day Nursery team work closely with Mawsley Community Primary School to ensure that the children are fully prepared for school, allowing the children to learn through play and not have big targets to complete before they get to reception class. They want the children to come in with a smile and go home with an even bigger one.
