Winter Screening

OUNDLE

To brighten up the winter evenings Oundle Cinema’s season continues with some humorous films and an escape to Turkey. All films are screened at the Stahl Theatre, West Street, Oundle, PE8 4FJ. Doors open at 7.15pm for ticket sales and bar services. The programme commences promptly at 7.45pm.

Tickets can be booked in advance either by phone or in person from Oundle Festival Office, 4 New Street, Oundle, PE8 4ED, 01832 274734. Tickets cost £5, under 18s £3. Availability can be checked on film nights by telephoning 07840 732 112 after 6.45pm (no voice or text messages).

TRANSPORT

If you are elderly or disabled and do not have access to transport, then Volunteer Action charity No 1056760 can help you get to your nearest ‘film screening’. Ring Volunteer Action on 01832 275433 for more details.

Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (12) – 7pm
The fi lmed is based on a book by Paul Thoday. Ewan Mcgregor stars as a Government fisheries scientist, who receives a request for technical consultancy from a Sheikh keen to introduce salmon fi shing into the wadis of his native Yemen.

Friday 15th February

The Artist (PG) - 7pm
Your chance to see the fi lm that scooped all the 2012 Oscars! It is the height of silent era Hollywood and aspiring starlet Peppy Miller gets her big break when a chance photograph taken with the world’s biggest movie star, George Valentin, ends up on the cover of Variety.

The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (12A) - 7.45pm
Retirement to an Indian hotel is not quite what its residents expected. Humour and romance to lighten a winter evening. The cast includes Judy Dench, Maggie Smith, Celia Imrie and Penelope Wilton.

Friday 22nd February

Warhorse (12) - 7.45pm
Based on Michael Morpurgo’s book the award-winning fi lm is about Albert, a farmer’s son, and Joey, the farm’s horse. When Joey is sold to the army in 1914 Albert lies about his age and joins up to try to fi nd him. A moving story.
