The Wildlife Trust for Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire and Canoe2 are offering an exciting series of events for 2014 to paddle the river and learn about our local wildlife. The ‘Dawn Chorus Early Morning River Paddle’ on Saturdays 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th May and the ‘Evening Paddle and Bat Spotting Walk’ on Fridays 22nd and 29th August and 5th September will combine a relaxing paddle along the river with a unique insight to the wildlife along the Nene Valley from Wildlife Trust experts.

During their fi rst year in partnership in 2013, the Wildlife Trust BCN and Canoe2 saw over
80 people attend wildlife themed canoe trips and with 50% of all ticket sales being donated
back to the Wildlife Trust this raised over £900 to support the Trust.

One paddler who attended an event last year explained that “this is THE activity for those
wanting scenery, relaxation, fun and a grand day going down the River Nene. Canoe2 is exceptional with their quality of canoes and friendly induction. Simply wonderful!’’

Both trips benefi t from expert talks by a representative of the Wildlife Trust and include
canoeing advice from Canoe2 along with a thorough safety briefi ng before setting off in your canoe. For the Bat Spotting Walk, you will even get the chance to use a bat detector!

Canoe2 will be donating 50% of ticket sales from these events to the Wildlife Trust. For more details go to www.wildlifebcn.org/canoe2
