Volunteers Needed! Cransley Hospice in London Road, Kettering, cares for patients living with life-limiting illness. The Hospice has a 9-bed inpatient area and runs outpatient clinics. The Hospice has a small team of volunteers engaged in a variety of tasks. Cransley volunteers are greatly appreciated by the staff and are very much an integral part of the overal team. The volunteers add to the service that the Hospice is able to offer, provide a link with the local community and bring an extra dimension to the atmosphere and culture in the Hospice. The Hospice is currently seeking to recruit volunteer drivers, receptionists and complementary therapists. RECEPTION VOLUNTEERS Reception volunteers normally work one three-hour shift per week. Their main duties are to welcome patients and visitors, accept donations and to take incoming calls VOLUNTEER DRIVERS Volunteer drivers provide transport for patients to attend outpatient clinics at the Hospice. Drivers use their own vehicles and are paid a mileage allowance. COMPLEMENTARY THERAPISTS Complementary therapy volunteers offer massage, aromatherapy and refl exology to patients and carers. Therapists must be fully qualifi ed and have their own insurance. The minimum age requirement for Hospice volunteering is 18 years. There is an application process which includes references, health screening and a criminal record check. Big Charity Swim Saturday 16th August At Rutland Water. Distances from 500m to 3k.
