Milly Wastie, East Midlands Regional Manager for the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI), was awarded an Inspirational Woman award at a star-studded ceremony at the Cadogen Hall in Chelsea at the beginning of October. It was a fantastic evening for
Milly and she was honoured to be involved with such a worthwhile organisation and be surrounded by so many wonderful women.

Milly was awarded an Inspirational Woman award for her commitment to the charity sector and her advocacy work promoting British Agriculture and championing road safety.

This is how she was described: Milly Wastie - Quoted by Radio 4′s Women’s Hour as a progressive young woman in Agriculture and Farmers Weekly 2013 Farming Champion fi nalist,
Milly Wastie (who is not from a farming background) is passionate about the promotion of British Agriculture and the diversity in career opportunities available.

Former NFYFC Chairman and road safety advocate, RABI East Midlands regional manager, small food producer, farmer’swife- in-training and country-loving sweetheart. Milly enjoys her advocacy work, championing her causes within the local, regional and national media as
well as campaigning within government, ensuring she really does make a difference.

Motivational speaker to young people and friend to all. Milly is based at Yelvertoft, Northamptonshire, and lives with her partner, Andrew, who farms on the family farm of beef,
sheep and arable. The couple plans to marry next year. Milly jokingly said in her acceptance
speech that it was nice to get glammed up for the night instead of her usual wellington boots and overalls! This award means so much to her as it recognises the voluntary and campaign work she has worked on for many years and endorses that she really tries to make a difference and hopefully inspire others.
