Braybrooke Morris Dancers are looking to recruit more dancers.

Anyone interested would be welcome to turn op at Braybrooke Village Hall every Monday from 7.45-9.45pm, except for the second Monday of the month, when the dancers meet at The Guide Hut at Harborough Leisure Centre, behind the football ground. You can turn up on your own or bring a friend; Morris dancers do not need a partner to participate.

Formed in 1989, Braybrooke Morris Dancers perform dances mainly in the Cotswold Tradition with white uniform and handkerchiefs. They perform on either side of the Northants/Leicester Border and, during the summer, they ‘dance out’ each week on a Thursday evening at a different village pub. The side is a ‘mixed side’ and has a strong association with Market Harborough, regularly supporting collections for The Macmillan Cancer Charity.

The history of Morris Dancing goes back at least 600 years so Braybrooke Morris Dancers are keeping alive a colourful and vibrant ancient tradition, which is also a lot of fun! The side likes to get spectators involved in certain dances whenever possible. There is no dancing in September; practice starts back on Monday 5th October. Please visit www.braybrookmorris2014.weebly.com for the full listing of summer dance outs and for further information.
