Are you aged 18-30?  Kettering Phoenix Rotaract Club is relaunching and is looking for new members to join!

Rotaract have clubs nationwide which bring people aged 18-30 together to have fun whilst helping to support their local community.  Kettering Phoenix Rotaract Club has meet-ups on a regular basis and offers a wide range of activities that will enable you to try something new, whilst having a great time and meeting others. Brewers Fayre at the Telford Lodge in Kettering has been kind enough to support the group so far through its infancy by offering it a room to hold its regular meetings.

The club meets on the first Thursday of each month, with regular socials in between.  The club activities are planned during these meetings and everyone has the opportunity to put forward their ideas.  As the group develops, more formalised roles will become available, such as treasurer, for anyone wishing to take on a role within the club. On top of the monthly meetings, Kettering Phoenix Rotaract Club aims to have a 'social event' at least once a month.  So far these have included bowling, laser maze, pub quizzes, table tennis evenings and games nights - although the club is always open to new suggestions and ideas to try something new.

The group aims to mix having fun with supporting the local community and throughout the year it is hoped that it will do as much ‘good’ as it possibly can, by holding and supporting fundraising events, volunteering, or taking part in any other good cause which is suggested.  Kettering Phoenix Rotaract Club has linked with the charity MIND, based on Russell Street in Kettering, in order to do this. Although Rotaract clubs are sponsored by Rotary clubs, the Rotaract members manage and help raise funds to support their clubs independently.

Kettering Phoenix Rotaract Club is part of the District 1070, which also gives it the opportunity to collaborate with other local Rotaract clubs, including Corby, Market Harborough & Rushden, to take part in wider community projects and larger social events. If you are interested in joining the club, they would be very pleased to see you at either one of the meetings or social events.  Please join their Facebook group to find out more and they are happy to answer any questions you may have.

If you like, you can send them a Facebook message before the first time you visit so they can make sure they meet you at the door to give you a warm welcome.

They are a friendly bunch and understand that it can be quite daunting to just walk in to a room of strangers and introduce yourself - we have all been there!
