Outstanding Entertainment  on Your Doorstep

The Oundle International Festival returns this July with a programme broad enough to appeal to absolutely everyone.  For over thirty years the Oundle Music Trust has sought to provide inspiring artistic experiences which contribute to the social, cultural, educational and economic life of the town and beyond, through partnerships with local, national and international associations and the generosity of sponsors and benefactors.  Running from 4th to 13th July, there are new delights as well as welcome returnees to the Festival.

Launching with a ‘Welcome’ Ceilidh hosted with the Oundle Fringe Festival, the festival sees returning this year both Kathryn Tickell with her band The Darkening, and Ronnie Scotts’ All Stars, this year celebrating their 60th Anniversary.  In a more classical vein there’s an evening celebrating Wagner with local pianists Alec Hone and Quentin Thomas, and two events dedicated to Bach: James McVinnie launches his Big Bach Project, while the annual Bach Walk offers two concerts as well as a delicious supper.  The popular Lunchtime recitals return featuring young musicians just starting out in their professional careers.

The eco-friendly Handlebards perform Much Ado About Nothing in front of Lyveden’s National Trust property (see page 38), while for those slightly younger of heart, Barnwell Country Park sees the return of a David Walliams’ best seller, this year Gangsta’ Granny.  Oundle’s party of the year is not to be missed, the Party at the Wharf is thrilled to be presenting ABBAMANIA.   Dance, sing and relax with lots on offer there for all to enjoy.

With all this, and many more free and ticketed events be sure to visit the website or pick up a brochure so you don’t miss out!
