Bearly Worn Children’s Boutique Move to larger premises ‘Bearly Worn’, the one-stop shop for preowned children’s clothing, has been growing from strength to strength since mother and daughter, Pauline and Heidi, fi rst set up in 28a High Street in Thrapston 30 months ago! The popularity has been such that larger premises were required, especially to give easier access for prams and push chairs, so when the bright, inviting central location of the previous fl orist and gift shop, ‘The Garden Room’, became available in April, the move was made to No. 26. With the move, Pauline and Heidi decided to change the name slightly to ‘Bearly Worn Children’s Boutique’, refl ecting better the fact that the boutique not only sells preowned clothing but also accessories, gifts, new toys, furniture as well as larger items such as prams, highchairs and cots. New items include hand-carved and hand-painted wooden furniture in designs ideal for girls’ or boys’ bedrooms or playrooms. There is also a traditional wooden painted toy range from ‘Orange Tree Toys’ consisting of Noah’s ark, shape sorters, push-alongs, skipping ropes, skittles, jewellery and pencils, priced from £1.49 to £20. Pauline and Heidi are proud to support local craft designers and small businesses and stock ‘Nappy cakes & baby gifts’ by local mum, Hayley Brackley, whose gift packs are perfect for baby showers or as presents for newborns or christenings and can be made bespoke to suit the occasion and your budget. You can also buy ‘Twinkle Toes’, an inkless hand/foot print kit designed by two young mums and there are regular offers from Woodford-based ‘Wink Photoshoots’ on display at the shop. The core business remains good quality preworn children’s clothes from premium highstreet brands to designer labels. Sizes range from newborn to 8 years, with some tiny baby/premature baby wear in stock. There is a nice selection of wedding outfi ts for fl ower girls, bridesmaids, page boys and ushers to be found, as well as ski wear and swimming gear depending on season. Some of the labels you will fi nd at Bearly Worn include Gap Kids, Gymboree, Next, Monsoon, Timberland, Boden, Ben Sherman, Joules, Pumpkin Patch, Osh Kosh, Petit Bateau, Ted Baker, Dior, Ralph Lauren and Kenzo. Starting from as little as a couple of pounds, you can fi nd a real bargain among the stock on display, some still with original price labels on. We all know how quickly children grow and sometimes they hardly get to wear the clothes we buy - an environmentally friendly way to recycle them and earn yourself some extra cash is to take them to Bearly Worn Children’s Boutique.
