Liam Treanor is a maker and designer of fi ne handmade furniture. From his workshop in Greenwich, Geddingtonborn Liam produces high-quality, bespoke and self-designed contemporary furniture and lighting with hints of Scandinavian and traditional craftsmanship.

Liam went to Geddington C of E Primary School and took his A levels at Bishop Stopford School before studying fi ne furniture making at Moulton College and obtaining a fi rst class degree in furniture design & craftsmanship from the University of Lincoln. He was subsequently selected as one of ‘New Designers One Year On’ – best emerging British designers, and some of his furniture has been featured in Homes & Antiques, House & Garden and Living Etc, to name but a few.

Liam’s objective is to supply style-driven clients with quality hand-produced products. His core principles lie with commitment to quality ethos and well-considered design approach.

The material Liam works with propels his passion for what he does. He is fascinated by wood’s potential to captivate the mind and its ability to form bonds with its users. From the  instinctual comfort we sense when surrounded by it to the sustainable method in which it has
been used for thousands of years.

Liam’s latest range has been designed to highlight the beauty of timber. From honest semi-exposed joints to the exaggeration of grain through the fi nish of choice. The aesthetic draws from the clean lines and modest forms of Scandinavian furniture and traditional British furniture making construction.

Liam keeps decoration to a minimum, because he believes furniture’s priority lies with its function. The understated but attractive aesthetic leaves his products to be warmly admired, but not necessarily to seek attention.

Liam works directly with interior designers, architects, retailers and private clients, offering not only the products in his range, but also a successful bespoke service.

He has sold various pieces to Lane Crawford, considered the Harrods of Hong Kong and China. One of his latest ventures is the Psycle project, a high-end spinning club located in central London, where he will be supplying uniquely designed benches for their waiting rooms.
