ATTENTION ALL YOUNG ACTORS, DANCERS, SINGERS, ARTISTS AND SPORT STARS

Northamptonshire-based charity The Travers Foundation is launching ‘The Coaching Programme’ in February 2014. The charity - which helps 18 to 30 year olds improve their skills in sports, the creative arts and the performing arts - is seeking applicants who would like assistance with the cost of coaching and professional support. This could be for groups or individuals living in Northamptonshire, Rutland or Leicestershire.

Funds are limited and will be allocated to just ten successful applicants. The money is available for people who are just starting out in their chosen field, or for those who’ve already achieved some success - after all, we can all use a skilled helping hand to help us improve. The charity will match each pound the candidate raises, up to a total of £300. This means, for example, if the applicant can raise £240, the charity would be able to turn this into £600 through its donation and gift aid.

Applications - which must be made on the charity’s website at www.travers-foundation.org.uk - have to be submitted by 31st March 2014 and the successful candidates will be notified by the end of April.

Local Wellingborough golfer Ryan Evans received support from the Travers Foundation in 2013. An amateur golfer, he was helped on the road to representing England in the Australian Amateur Golf Championship. Ryan was delighted to represent England and thankful to The Travers Foundation and everyone at home for supporting him.
