Enjoy world-class cycling at the first Women’s Tour cycling event which is coming to Northamptonshire in May. The fi rst stage takes place in the county on Wednesday 7th May, starting with the Grand Départ in Oundle at 10.45am and the stage fi nish later that day in the centre of Northampton at around 1.25pm. There will be lots of activities for people to enjoy at both towns on the day. On the following day, Thursday 8th May, the second stage
will also pass through Northamptonshire, from Welford to Wollaston.

This is the country’s fi rst international stage-race with over 100 of the best female riders, including past and current Olympic medallists and World Champions representing 17 trade and national teams, competing to become the fi rst ever Women’s Tour champion.
Joining the already confi rmed reigning World and Olympic road race champion Marianne Vos and her Rabo Liv team will be the Wiggle Honda team of British Olympic track champions Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell and Dani King. Oundle will celebrate the Women’s Tour with a number of events from Sunday to Wednesday to include:

• Health and Wellness Fair - Sunday 4th May, 10am - 5pm. A range of stalls offering  education, information on local services, opportunities to sign up or book with practitioners, therapists or fi tness professionals. Women only taster sessions on the
day to include head/hand massage, refl exology, health analysis, hair and beauty, etc.

• Have a Go Day - Monday 5th May, 10am - 4pm. Sports and activities for all taking place at sports clubs, the Recreation Ground, the Market Place and the Queen Victoria Hall. Wacky
sports and activities at the pubs and eateries such as hop scotch at No 4; belly dancing at the Ship; rugby, tennis, bowls and golf; Street dancing in the Market Place and Urban Gym
on the Recreation Ground.

• Oundle Party Day - Tuesday 6th May, 4-10pm. Enjoy fi ve zones of entertainment to include:

• Bike Races run by Breeze and Go Rides.
• Bikeability will run obstacle races.
• The Ministry of Bikes with their famous bikes including the ‘Vomit Comet’.
• Make your own smoothie with pedal power.
• Enjoy street food from around the world.
• The shops will all be open and windows decorated.
• Lots of entertainment for kids including face painting.
• The River Nene is being created down one street.
• A car pulling event where teams of 4 will be competing to see who is the strongest and fastest.

• Music will form a huge part in the day with steel bands, local folk musicians and dancers, beautiful solo artists and dance music.
