Oundle Golf Club starts 2019 with great expectations following a year of change and celebrations.  In 2018 it celebrated its 125th anniversary, a remarkable achievement which demonstrates the popularity of the club and how well it has withstood the many changes over the years, even staying open during WWII!  With the celebration came a major challenge, as the club was hit by the “Beast from the East” earlier in the year; not only did this affect parts of the course but there was a flood in the clubhouse which meant that the whole of the building had to be refurbished.

However, a negative has been turned into a positive and the refurbished facilities will no doubt attract many new people to the club.  Whether you just want a coffee, bar snack, dinner in the Cotton Room Restaurant or hold a private party, Oundle Golf Club can provide an excellent venue and personalised service.  The seated balcony has some of the best views in the area: Oundle to the left and the 1st and 18th fairway to the right, and is a perfect spot to relax in warmer weather.

There is a large bar/lounge area suitable for a multitude of uses including parties.  Many local businesses currently take advantage of the separate restaurant which can be hired independently for meetings, conferences and functions.  Downstairs there is a small meeting room which also adds to the club’s venue hire portfolio.  The location is ideal, it is close enough to the town to walk or, if driving, there is a large secure car park.   All these facilities are open to nonmembers as well as members.

The restaurant is named after two members from the last century, Phil and Esme Cotton.  They would be amazed to see the difference from the original two sheds to today’s twostorey building housing three function rooms, modern fully equipped male and female changing rooms, reception and golf shop, alongside an 18-hole woodland golf course featured in Today’s Golfer as one of the Top 50 fun places to play in the UK.  With change comes progression; Oundle Golf Club looks forward to 2019 and thanks its many members for their support and patience whilst the building work has taken place.  As over 350 members actually own the majority of the Club they hope they will be proud of their new clubhouse; remember you do not have to be a golfer to enjoy Oundle Golf Club.
