Many people like to sit on the sofa in a warm lounge watching a movie on a Saturday evening...

So why would you get out of that comfort zone around 9pm to get freshened up, changed into uniform and head into Kettering town centre, once a month?

As a Kettering Street Pastor for the last eight years, this is something I have done ‘religiously’.  Some might say religion doesn’t come into it, but faith in Christ, love and care for others does.

Teams patrol the streets of Kettering, as do colleagues in other towns and cities up and down the country, every Saturday night until 3am.  We hand out lollipops, water, space blankets, basic first aid and offer a caring, listening ear and a helpful, ‘can do’ approach.  We also carry a phone charger if you need to contact a friend or family member.

We are there to ‘Care, Listen and Help’ – no matter whoever, whatever and whenever – and without judgment.  We liaise with CCTV, door staff and police to support those in need and in vulnerable situations.

If you want to know more about becoming a Street Pastor or one of our amazing Prayer Pastors, then please do get in touch. We offer extensive training, camaraderie, the opportunity to meet new people, work as a team . . . and MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
