Featuring unexpected views, strange doorways and eccentric architecture, Delapré Abbey in Northampton is over 900 years old and the perfect family day out.  Threatened with destruction many times during its history, the Abbey opened to the public last year following an extensive restoration.

Under 18s go free.  An Annual Pass costs £20, with day tickets priced £8.80.  Opening times until 29th September: Wed-Sun, 11am to 5pm; from 30th September-22nd December: Fri - Sun, 11am-5pm.

Village Show Sunday 8th September,  11am to 4pm

Enjoy a traditional summer village fair with shopping and family entertainment.  Free entry.

Downton at Delapré Mondays from 30th September  

To coincide with the release of the new Downton Abbey film, we’re offering exclusive upstairs/ downstairs tours.  Discover life at the Abbey in the time of the wealthy, aristocratic Bouverie family and delve into the stories of servants and those living on the estate.  Tours at 12pm (downstairs) and 3pm (upstairs).  £15 per person including soup and a roll at 12pm, and cream tea at 3pm.

Autumn Fair Saturday

26th October through  Sunday 3rd November, 11am to 4pm

Enjoy the turn of the season and the chance to celebrate the joys of this spectacular time with autumnal food, crafts and activities.  Free entry.


Thursday 31st October & Friday 1st November, 6pm-9pm

Join us a for a family-friendly Halloween trail in the gardens of Delapré Abbey.  Watch out for fearsome creatures and ghostly apparitions from the Abbey’s past… If you manage to survive the spooky trail then join us for a party with refreshments, entertainment and games.  Suitable for under 12s and their families: £3.50 per person or £10 for family of four* *Maximum of two adults
