Summer of Music at Boughton House

Boughton House is gearing up for a summer
of celebrations in perfect harmony with
one another. As well as its new collaborative
exhibition A Passion for Opera: The Duchess
and the Georgian Stage, the Estate will host
a performance from leading period ensemble
Opera Prelude and three outdoor musical
cinema screenings over the summer.

The exhibition will be previewed at an exclusive
event in conjunction with Oundle International
Festival on Saturday 6th July. Hosted by the
Duke of Buccleuch, this black tie event will
feature a champagne reception, as well as a
guided tour of the House and exhibition, before
a concert from Opera Prelude, with an ensemble
of leading period instrument specialists. Tickets
£50 are on sale now at www.oundlefestival.org.
uk. From 2pm a separate symposium, exploring
the musical life of Elizabeth and her family and
their relationship with London’s opera scene, will
reveal some extraordinary archival discoveries.
Tickets for this are £10, with a full day package
priced at £55.

The Estate will also be screening
Bradley Cooper’s A Star is Born,
featuring Lady Gaga on Friday
9th August as well as the awardwinning
Queen biopic Bohemian
Rhapsody starring Rami Malek on
Friday 20th September (the August screening of
this has sold out). Bring a folding chair, a warm
blanket and a torch and dress for the weather.

Boughton House & Gardens
open daily in August

Boughton’s exhibition will open to the public
throughout August, during the House’s summer
opening season. House tours will begin at
1pm, with the last tour at 3.30pm daily. The
Gardens will open throughout August between
12pm-5pm, with last entry at 4pm. Groups
are welcome to visit by prior arrangement
throughout the year.

 

Entry to the House and Gardens costs £11 per adult, £8 for children and £30 for a family of four.  Gardens only entry is £6 for adults, £3 for children and £14 for a family of four.
