HOW YOU CAN LEARN MORE ABOUT HEALTH PROVISION LOCALLY

By Dr Mabel Blased

Many people in the area attend Kettering General Hospital and it is useful to know what is happening at the hospital.

Kettering General Hospital is a NHS Foundation Health Trust and therefore it has public governors who are elected by the membership of the Trust. Governors cover constituency areas, such as Kettering, Corby and East Northamptonshire.

Governors are responsible for keeping the non-executive directors of the hospital to account and engaging with those they represent. The roles of Governors are all voluntary. Anyone over the age of 16 can become a member of the Trust and it enables you to hear more of what is happening at the hospital and about health generally. Membership is free and members are sent a monthly newsletter with up-to-date information on the hospital.

Members are also invited to webinars on health topics and recent ones included an event on Men’s Health, titled ‘Below the Belt’, Living with Long Covid, Breast Pain and Action for Happiness. I have found people liked them and shared them with others. More topics are planned for later in the year. For more details, please contact KGH Membership Officer at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

All events are well attended and offer opportunities to ask the experts questions. Recordings are also available on the KGH website.
